On May 3, 2018 RCMT has organized the seminar "Ecodesign: efficiency of advanced manufacturing" in RCMT, Horská. 

One of the key elements for achieving sustainable and competitive production are energy efficiency and reducing operating costs. The aim of the seminar was to show the possibility of achieving these goals in modern production machines and equipment. Solution, options and successful case studies were presented by all speakers.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Steffen Ihlenfeldt is holder of the Chair of Machine Tools Development and Adaptive Controls since 2015. In Addition, he is head of the Department of Cyber - Physical Production Systems (CPPS) at the Fraunhofer IWU and member of CIRP. He was born in 1971 in Aschersleben.

Jeremi Wójcicki, PhD. Eng. Recipient of Marie Curie Scholarship, in 2017 Obtained a joint doctoral degree in mechanical engineering of AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, Poland, and Politecnico di Milano, in Milan, Italy. Post-doctoral researcher at Itia - National Institute of Industrial Technology and Automation, Milan, specializes in energy efficiency of machine tools, machine tool monitoring and Industry 4.0.

J. Smetana worked as a designer of electrical networks, followed by the development of special measuring equipment for semiconductor manufacturing at the Research Institute of AS Popov. Since 1992, director and managing director of Blue Panther s.r.o. operating in the field of measuring instruments and measurement and representing Fluke, Elspec and Teledyne LeCroy.

12:15-12:45 Ecodesign in regulated drives, with electric motors - possible way to save energy and minimize dimensions Ing. Naděžda Pavelková, PhD., ABB

N. Pavelková works as a technical support manager in the sales department of electrical drives ABB. Issue EcoDesign is engaged in the design of a suitable drive solutions both in terms of dimensioning and in terms of evaluating the energy savings.
